How to Find Someone Without Their Username
- Check a playlist they made. Tap their name under the playlist title to open their profile.
- Use Friend Activity on desktop. If you follow them and they share their listening activity, they show up there (Spotify Support).
- Look at their social bios. Many people put a Spotify link in their Instagram, TikTok or X bio.
- Ask for the link. On their profile they tap the three dots, then Share, then copy the link.

Search by Name (Mobile and Desktop)
- Open Search and type the person's display name.
- On mobile, tap enter to show the filters.
- Choose Profiles so songs and artists drop out of the results (Spotify Support).
Search matches display names, so add a distinctive word if the name is common. More tips are in our Spotify user search guide.
Open a Profile Link or Spotify Code
With a username, go straight to open.spotify.com/user/[username]. Spotify usernames often differ from display names, and many are strings of letters and numbers.
